Great Looking Blush for Tan Skin – Safe Tan

There’s nothing like a great tan to remind you of beautiful summer days. That same great tan can be a little confusing when it comes to your makeup application, especially your blush. There are several tips and tricks you can use to do your blush a lunge.

To find your ideal shade of blush, do a little vigorous activity, such as running up and down the steps a few times. The color your cheeks turn with some light activity is the color that will look best on you. Make sure you purchase your blush products from a store that takes returns because you don’t want to get stuck with the wrong color. Even better, secure a company, such as Mary Kay Cosmetics, that provides individually wrapped blush samples so that you can try them out at home. It’s best to gawk what they look like in the sunshine.

Powder blush is the easiest to apply. Start with a great product, such as Nars blush in Luster, and a terrific blush brush, such as one of Sephora’s ticket name brushes. Swirl the brush in the blush and tap off any excess. Remember to use a light hand – it is grand easier to apply more blush than it is to remove excess from your face. Sweep lightly the brush lightly along the top of your cheekbone starting to your ear and moving forwards. Do not bring the blush any closer than two fingers from your nose, or all of the attention will be on your nose! Then capture a clean blush and blend the color so you get a nice, natural look. Repeat the steps as needed until you achieve your desired look.

If you prefer a fresher, more modern look, swirl your blush brush (after it has been dipped into the blush) on just the apples of your cheeks. If your eye makeup and lip color is very very neutral, you can apply a bright pink or fuchsia for a fun and trendy look., such as “flush” cheek stain by Tarte.

If you are unsure what color of blush to apply, you will be very safe in purchasing a neutral bronzer that you can expend as a blush. Cargo makes a great bronzer in a fun tin for around $25. It comes in light, medium, medium matte, and dark. Just decide the one that is similar to your skin tone. Apply the bronzer as you would a blush, or you can make an “E” shape around your face – lightly drift the brush across your forehead, down hour cheekbone towards your nose, and then down and around your chin. This will give you a very natural and sun kissed look.

Overall, the key to big looking blush on tan skin or even on pale skin, is to blend the blush well. Don’t forget this important step and you will have great looking blushing cheeks!

Top Five Self-Tanning Products Under $50 – Self Tanners

  • Exfoliating before self-tanning will give you the best results.
  • Using a tan extender can prolong the life of your tan, as can using a daily moisturizer.
  • It is not necessary to pay a high salon fee to achieve a natural-looking sunless tan.

=”article_text”>

As a naturally extremely fair-skinned person who’s always been prone to burning, I’ve spent years on a quest for a natural-looking, affordable sunless tan. These five products are the best I’ve found and the least likely to leave you streaky or orange!

1.) Mystic Tan – $12 to $25 per session, depending on which salon you visit. The Mystic Tan systems can be found at a wide variety of locations, from beauty salons/spas to gyms. They are most easily found at tanning salons or at Mystic Tan salons. The Mystic Tan is the closest and most cost-efficient way to emulate the experience of having an aesthetician at a salon or spa hand-airbrush you with self-tanner. Because a personalized treatment like that can cost upwards of $100, and doesn’t necessarily last any longer than a Mystic Tan, this is your next best bet. When you reach at a Mystic Tan salon, you will be shown a video that teaches you how to regain the best results. Pay attention to the video – it really does give suited advice on how to avoid streaking, white areas around your knuckles and wrists, and too powerful product on your feet and hands. The self-tanning process itself only takes about thirty seconds total (fourteen to fifteen seconds on each side of your body), and my favorite part is that it dries instantly – you can towel off the excess bronzer, get dressed, and be on your way!

2.) MysticSunless Spray – $20.95 from the Mystic Tan website (www.shopmystictan.com), but they also say that prices might be lower at your local salon. This product claimed to work as well as the Mystic Tan, but without having to go to a salon or pay each time. While it’s definitely more difficult to do the self-tanning yourself instead of standing in a booth and being sprayed, I actually liked having control over where the spray was going. There is a bronzer that shows up instantly and gives a nice light sheen to your skin, and the rest of the color develops over the next four hours. The color itself is quite comparable to what you’d get from a Mystic Tan, and it lasted for the same amount of time (around four to five days). There are supplementary products that you can also take that will extend the life of your tan (my record was eight days) or prepare your skin for the self-tanning process. With any self-tanner, I would strongly recommend exfoliating first to acquire your skin’s surface area as even as possible. The MysticSunless exfoliant is sparkling, but I found other, less expensive products to be just as good.

3.) Neutrogena MicroMist Sunless Tanning Spray – $11.99 or less at most drugstores. This is a spacious drugstore brand that comes in two colors, Medium (which turns you two shades darker than your natural skin color), and Deep (three shades darker). If you’re light-skinned or original to sunless tanning, I would definitely recommend the Medium shade, as errors will be less obvious and easier to true. I tend to like sprays, because they make it possible to tan hard-to-reach areas like the back, back of legs, etc., but if you’re a fan of foams or creams, Neutrogena makes these also (my personal favorites are the Gloomy Tanning Foam, $10.09, and the Instant Bronze Sunless Tanner and Bronzer, $9.99). As a side note, though you can use these products on your face as well, I would recommend buying a separate tanner that is specifically meant for the face to avoid breakouts and extremely visible mistakes. All of the brands I have listed so far have face-specific tanners as well.

4.) Tantowel Self-Tan Towelette – $19.99 for a box of ten towelettes (www.drugstore.com). These individually wrapped towelettes are pre-soaked with self-tanner. These are extremely convenient if you’re traveling, and develop in a shorter amount of time than most (around three hours). The packaging says that you can apply another after three hours if you want a darker tan, but I have not yet tried that. You have less control over how much product comes out at a time than if you’re using a spray/lotion/foam, but the color tranquil comes out evenly. The best use for this product is as a mistake fixer – just swipe it over tan lines or uneven color (I use it between my fingers and toes, since somehow self-tanner never manages to settle well there!). L’Oreal also makes a good self-tan towelette (Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Towelettes, $9.49 for six) that are available at most local drugstores.

5.) Dove Energy Glow Daily Moisturizer – $7.99 at most drugstores. This lotion comes in Medium and Sunless, and has a separate product for use on the face. This is one of several moisturizers that can be used daily, and unlike other self-tanners, only deposits a petite amount of color at a time. If you’re looking for immediate, dramatic results, employ another product – but this one is practically mistake-proof, and over the course of two days to a week, your skin will turn several shades darker. My current part of this is that I can use it anytime and not worry that streaks or missed areas will suddenly turn up in the middle of dinner or a night out. Two other comparable products are Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer ($7.19 at drugstores) and Aveeno Active Naturals Continuous Radiance Moisturizing Lotion ($8.89 at drugstores, spacious for people with more sensitive skin).

Sunless Tanning Vs. Spray Tanning – Spray Tanning Lotion

It’s summertime again and most everyone wants to have that nice brown summer glow. Shorts and bathing suits always seem to look better on us if our skin has a nice golden tan and for some reason seems to make us think we look healthier.

Many of us would rather opt to expend a commercial product that will give us the notice of having spent days out in the sun, but without the consequences. We all know that prolonged exposure to the sun can sometimes cause damaging effects, such as skin cancer.

So if you are someone that would rather use an over the counter tanner then which kind should you choose? There are creams, gels, and now spray tanning. But which one is the most effective and looks the best after being applied?

I’ll tell you, it’s actually really in the application. Personally for me I think that the spray tanning works much better than the sunless tanning creams or gels.

I found that with the creams and gels having to use your hands to rub it into your skin can cause your fingernails to be stained and also any creases in your skin or fingers. As you rub it into the rest of your body, you cannot observe any spots that you might have missed or an area where you might have applied too much.

As everyone knows this can cause the dreaded “orange” stare and the creams and lotions always tend to cause streaks in different areas, where one part of your skin looks tan and the other doesn’t.

With the tanning sprays, they seem to give you a more even application because it is a gorgeous mist and not a thick bunch of lotion. You don’t have to get your hands all messy or stain your fingernails.

With sprays they tend to have less streaks left on your skin, and have more of an allover coverage. I also believe the sprays save you money because of the fact that you don’t have to use as mighty spray as you do lotion since it is more lightweight.

I do recommend when using the tanning sprays that you do so in your shower, because of the fact that a spray can float in the air and land on clothing, furniture, etc. It’s better to be safe than sorry, and have brown streaks in your bathroom. In the shower after applying, honest step out and rinse the bathtub and shower stall off and you have no worries.

Best Self-Tanning Products for Winter Months – Spray Tanning Lotion

If you are like me, laying in a tanning bed for 20 minutes, getting burnt, then going outside into the harsh winter weather is about as appealing as having a cold! And the cost! I would much rather have the money it costs to; get a base tan, then occupy that tan. No one has to go through winter looking like Casper though, there are many sunless tanner products out there to choose from! Some people are very weary of sunless tanners with some causing orange tints or zebra stripes if not applied properly. But I have found, by trial and error, several sunless tanning products that are cheap, and the results are great! Here are some of my favorites:

Neutrogena: Sunless Tanner Micro Mist

This spray runs around 10.00$ depending on where you buy it, and it is a rounded spray can. It is very easy to apply, just spray (it has a continuous spray so you don’t score spacious bursts that wear out) all over your body. Spray a little on your fingers to apply to the face though!! The key is to keep the spray nozzle at a distance of about 6-8 inches from the body and keep that constant, so that you don’t have darker spots than others. This usually only happens if you get the nozzle really conclude. I expend the deep formula for this, its about 3 shades darker than your staring skin tone, and leaves you with the perfect bronze color, rather than orange. This spray does dry fast, and you can rub it in right after you spray to ensure even tone, but its not required. This particular spray has a very slight smell after drying, but its not strong, and not a horrible smell at all.

Neutrogena Unlit Tanning Foam

This also gave me about the same color, it is a couple of collars cheaper though. If you get the citrus smelling foam, it has a funky smell at first, but that fades to no smell at all after a few minutes. Its easy to spread, and is very light, so it dries fast. You can obtain this in the deep formula or regular as well. Like lotions you want to use sparingly around knees and elbows where there is dryer skin.

Loreal Sublime Bronze Tinted Self Tanner

This is my favorite sunless tanner when it comes to deep rich color quickly. The lotion is more like a gel that is dark brown, and it has tiny gold flecks of shimmer in it, so you get a full body shimmer after putting this tanner on. It doesn’t have a strong smell at first, but it does become noticeable after a few hours, not terrible, but noticeable. Its a little more easy to goof with this lotion, it doesn’t dry as fast, so putting it on before bed is not the best idea, if you sleep with your side, with your knees together, you may notice darker spots in the morning! Overall, as long as this is put on in the evening an or so before bed, you should be fine. Sublime is around 9 dollars.

Banana Boat Dim Tanning Summer Color

This has the best smell of a tanning lotion that I have come across. It is a brown tinted gel, but doesn’t tint your skin, and its easy to apply and not amble. The gel is also a great moisturizer and leaves my skin feeling incredible, which also helps that tan last longer, especially with the winter frosty drying skin out! After a few hours the good smell wore off, but it doesn’t have an “after smell” either really, not that I noticed anyway. This also comes in light/medium as well as deep shades. This tanner runs about 8 or 9 dollars

Victoria’s Secret Bare Bronzer

This is my least current of the ones that I have tried, it smelled very funky, but was easy to apply. It took a while to dry, and had a very strong odor after a couple of hours. The color wasn’t very even either, as if the lotion was mixed well. I am not sure the cost of this, because mine was a gift from a friend, but I imaging its more expensive than the others that I listed.

To obtain a flawless application of self tanner, you need to make clear that your skin is clean and exfoliated! Shaving your legs is adequate, but you should also expend a sugar scrub or other scrub for the rest of your body, face too!! Make sure you have time so you don’t rush and construct a mess of yourself, i.e. streaks galore!!! Keep a constant amount on your skin, and spread or spray evenly. With a runt bit of attention anyone can have a perfect bronze glow all winter long.

Upgrade Your Tan with a 26 Bulb Tanning Bed – Home Tanning Beds

Tanning beds come in a variety of shapes, sizes and “power”. The effectiveness and strength of a given bed is driven by the number of bulbs and the wattage associated with them. A 26 bulb tanning bed presents a good option for both commercial operators as well as serious home tanning enthusiasts.

In today’s culture, everyone seeks a healthy, glowing tan. Unfortunately, not all of us have the luxury of living where the sun always shines. Necessity being the mother of invention, science has addressed this gap by giving us indoor tanning. Today, the varieties of indoor tanning equipment are limited only by the human imagination.

Tanning beds and booths are differentiated by three main factors. The first if these is the strength of the bulbs it contains. The power of a given bulb is measured in terms of the wattage associated with it. Tanning bulbs generally are either 100 watts or 160 watts. All else being equal, a 160 watt bulb will give a quicker and deeper tan than a 100 watt bulb.

However, wattage is only the first metric. Whether the bulbs possess a built in reflector is the second critical point. Built in reflectors greatly improve the effectiveness of a bulb. A 100 watt bulb with a built in reflector (referred to as HOR in the industry) is arguably more effective than a 160 watt bulb without a reflectors (referred to as VHO).

Lastly, the efficacy of a given bed is also driven by the number of bulbs present. Small portable units can have as few as 4 bulbs. The largest commercial units can have in excess of 50 bulbs. Again, the number of bulbs is objective one of three factors effecting the overall “power” of the machine. A bed with 26 bulbs of 160 watts with built in reflectors could produce much better results than a 42 bulb bed only having 100 watt non reflective bulbs.

Those seeking to acquire a tanning bed are best served to educate themselves on these various components of tanning bed effectiveness. The numbers and figures can prove to be deceptive without a good grounding in the basic science behind them. Strictly going by the number of bulbs present in a given bed can lead to disappointing results for you or your customers.

Maximization of UV output has the positive attain of a quicker, more noticeable tan. However, the downside is corresponding increased health risks. Many studies have been done pertaining to long term exposure to the type of rays which create suntans. This represents the final factor one needs to include within their analysis.

Tanning salons have become almost as pervasive as fast food restaurants. Along with their growth there has been a proliferation of novel beds and configurations. It often can be confusing for the novice buyer. A 26 bulb tanning bed sometimes can be better than a 42 bulb bed. All factors need to be considered before one makes an investment in the world of tanning equipment.

How to Eliminate Your Unwanted Tan Lines – Spray Tan

Objective about everyday there are millions of people all around the world who go tanning. This tanning can occurring with a tanning bed or old sun bathing. Although these are popular ways to get a tan they often leave unflattering tan lines.

A tan line is a noticeable impress that shows where a portion of the body tanned and where another did not. Tan lines are often found when an individuals has been wearing a bathing suit or another type of clothing that prohibited their body from completely being tanned. Although tan lines do not always look appealing there are a number of ways to eliminate them or reduce their affect.

Female tanners are the ones that are most likely to want to explore an elimination or a reduction in their tan lines, but it also important to remember that many men tan as well. When tanning in a tanning bed at a beauty salon or a tanning salon there are a number of ways to eliminate your tan lines. The most common way to do so is to tan in the nude.

There is nothing injurious with tanning in the nude; in fact, there are already thousands of tanners that do. When tanning in the nude tan lines are completely eliminated. Many men and women tan this scheme especially when they may be preparing for an event where their attire may not cover their whole body.

When tanning in the nude it is important that you remember to completely sanitize the tanning bed before you use it. Many tanners cleaner the tanning beds that they used before leaving; however, that is not something that should be relied upon. Most beauty salons or tanning salons will have a cleaning solution spray and paper towels right in the room with the tanning bed. If these items are not available then you should ask for them before hopping into a tanning bed.

Traditional sunbathing is current in many southern locations just about all year round. While natural sunbathing is popular there really aren’t any ways to eliminate tan lines. A homeowner can tan nude on their possess property, but unless they are at a nudist location they cannot do so out in the public. For this reason many natural sunbathers rely on sunless tanning lotions to help reduce their tan lines.

Sunless tanning lotions come in a wide variety of different brands and styles. Most tanners will have to match up their newly tanned skin with a sunless tanner that will match their skin tone or at least come terminate to it. In addition to many general sunless tanning lotions there are also products that are specifically made up touch up applications. These would be the types of sunless tanning lotions that should be purchased because they are often easier to apply to a sure area.

Sunless tanning lotions can also be feeble on individuals who feel sorrowful tanning in a bed while being naked. There is nothing wrong with proudly wearing tan lines, but why should you have to when it is so easy to eliminate them or mask them?

Ten Reasons Why You Should Not BuyCoppertone Endless Summer Sunless Tanning Bronzing Foam – Tanning Self Tanner

Coppertone Endless Summer Sunless Tanning Bronzing Foam is one of those self-tanning products that give self-tanners a awful name. I thought that streaking orange hued self-tanners were a thing of the past, but I was wrong. I bought Coppertone Endless Summer Sunless Tanning Bronzing Foam at my local CVS and thought I was buying a product that would stand up to the company name on the bottle. After all, I have use Coppertone sun care products most of my life, like most of America. Unfortunately I was sadly disappointed. I returned my Coppertone Endless Summer Dim Tanning Bronzing Foam for a pudgy refund. Fortunately my orange hued legs equally horrified the manager at CVS.

A capable self-tanning foam should apply easily, have a natural tan color, and never streak. These are the minimal requirements I had when I bought the bottle of Coppertone Endless Summer Sunless Tanning Bronzing Foam. The bottle itself convinced me this would be a great and effective self tanner. Words like “superior natural color” and “enhanced color quality” had visions of sun bronzed skin in my head. All I wanted was a tan without the skin cancer. The instructions were distinct and concise. Apply quickly and evenly, wash hands with soap, wait five minutes before getting dressed, and the usual instructions you find on any self-tanner. By following these instructions the Coppertone Endless Summer Sunless Tanning Bronzing Foam bottle stated that I would have a righteous natural looking tan in about 30 minutes. Not one of these minimal standards were met, which leads to my ten reasons you should never buy Coppertone Endless Summer Unlit Tanning Bronzing Foam.

1. My first problem with the Coppertone Endless Summer Sunless Tanning Bronzing Foam began when I dispensed the foam onto my hand. It smelled. This was not a good stamp, but I didn’t have anywhere I had to be right away, so I though after it dried I could choose a shower in a few hours. Detestable. The smell was just too bad. I forced myself not to shower, but it really would have been a major problem if I had to be anywhere before I could have showered.

2. I bought Coppertone Endless Summer Sunless Tanning Bronzing Foam because it said it had a temporary hint of color that would help in the application. After I rubbed this product in completely I had no idea where it had been and where it had not. There was no temporary color at all.

3. The superior natural color did not start showing up in thirty minutes like the directions said it would. About three hours after I applied the Coppertone Endless Summer Sunless Tanning Bronzing Foam I broke down and had to shower, I couldn’t wait for the self-tanner to appear anymore.

4. Unfortunately for me the Coppertone Endless Summer Sunless Tanning Bronzing Foam did soak in before I showered. I know this because of the streaky orange color my legs and arms turned. The orange color began to show up about four hours after the initial application. It was rather dilapidated fortunately. Not a deep pleasing natural looking color as promised on the bottle. I guess I should not complain that the color was week since it was orange.

5.A 3.7 ounce bottle of Coppertone Endless Summer Sunless Tanning Bronzing Foam cost me $13.00. A little more if you include taxes. This was a complete waste of my money. I have used other self-tanning products from the drug store and had much better results. Most of them all cost about $7.99.

6. One of the worst problems I found with Coppertone Endless Summer Sunless Tanning Bronzing Foam was that it stained my clothing. The directions specifically said that it would dry in five minutes. I waited a full half hour before I got dresses and it still managed to turn the inside of my bra a lovely orange color that composed has not washed out.

7. The Coppertone Endless Summer Sunless Tanning Bronzing Foam also left an orange color on my bath towels. I did not shower for three hours, which is what the directions said to do, but it still affected my bath towels.

8.The skin on my feet was mottled in appearance. I exfoliated my heels, ankles, and feet before applying the Coppertone Endless Summer Sunless Tanning Bronzing Foam. I have found this to work for other self-tanners and expected no less from this product. I was cross.

9. My toenails actually soaked up some of the orange color.

10. It broken-down even more unevenly than when I applied it. All around I would say Coppertone Endless Summer Dark Tanning Bronzing Foam is not worth the money. I though my self-tanning nightmare was finally over, but as it faded it continued to scrutinize terrible.

Self Tanner Solutions – Best Self Tanner

The most primary thing to remember is spend the extra cash for the better product. As we all have learned over time, quality is most important than quantity! Before you shop check in magazines and with friends to find out which product will give you the ogle that suits you. The day you apply the self tanner make positive and exfoliate your skin. There are many products you can use, but there are also a variety of home scrubs. You can mix together sugar and oatmeal or olive oil and sea salt then apply to the skin (including legs, arms, midsection) with a loofah. Scrub into skin gently in a circular motion. I personally use the oatmeal/sugar mix because the olive oil tends to leave a film behind that I have found causes the tanners to go on unevenly and cause streaks.

After your shower, make sure your body is completely dry, then you can either use the spray method or lotion tanner. I prefer the lotion, and apply in a circular motion to avoid streaking. The first time you use the product you want to lightly, remember it takes a bit before it darkens, and you can always go succor and apply more. You’ll want to allow around 20 mins before getting dressed, so make determined you have spacious time. After apply make sure to wash your hands and making sure you leave tanner on the tops of your hands. Another great tip is to recall a spot remover for self tanners before you start the process. Over time, weekly is my routine, reapply the self tanner and you’re skin will become darker each time.

Final thoughts….make sure you give yourself time for the process, if you have plans save this task for a day you’re free to treat yourself!
